People are excessively obsessed with applications's RAM usage. Most of the PCs these days are sold with at-least 1GB of RAM. Even if an AV uses 80-90 MB RAM, you will not even notice it in daily operation unless you consult task manager/sidebar gadget/taskbar gadget that is displaying resource usage. What actually is apparent during normal usage is its over all impact on factors like - boot time, shut-down time, explorer tie-up, application launch time etc. One good example - MSE. Uses less RAM, but ties up explorer when accessing exe files.

I thought that the engines in the cloud were built in-house, this is about the local engine from the Pro version, isn't it?

It's the localhost engine, or rather parts of it.

    All,

I will not be able to post here again because I simply do not have the time right now and won't until we ship 2.0. I thought of addressing your concerns but at the end of the day, this what a bug scrub is for. Griping about bugs during a bug scrub is, well.. I'll just leave it at that.

For those users from Wilders who are helping us test I want you to know it's deeply appreciated. You guys are awesome. If you have immediate questions and are not on the testing forum please ask Pederson, he can likely answer and if not he can track me down.

    Cheers,
    al

Yes. If it were not for WSF, I wouldn't have even noticed. I don't think an email was sent out.

I still have the issue where it shows Sunbelt VIPRE and the bottom is cut off for other reported security apps.

All users who taken part so far will get Plus keys.

A message will be post in the beta forum on Monday.

There will be two different types of testers next week.
People testing our main Plus and Free products and users who volunteer to test our new engine.
To test the new engine you will have to have VM's and be fairly technical.

This should explain whats going to happen the rest of the week. :)
