A few days ago my PC among other things got the worst of a very bad storm here with a direct lightning strike,
needless to say that fried quite a bit of electronics. As a result I pulled out another PC from storage.
My question is if it is possible after installing my image recovery software to put the image of my fried PC (its on an external hard drive) on my now working PC? Same OS,service pack, the difference is in the processor and I don't know if that would work or not.
Trying to save quite a bit of time setting this one up to my liking.

What software did you use to backup? Different backup software offer different ways and ease of restore on different hardware.

No, it appears to be new to v5.
So it appears I have two options here then.
Hmmm, upgrade or a slow setup process.

Yes, it doesn't matter which imaging app you used. Restore the image to your new computer and see if the OS boots. If it doesn't get back to us for further instructions on how to make it boot.
