We had some severe storms here tonight (down burst winds, etc). So I went to http://dfw.cbslocal.com/. Upon the website loading, I was presented with a black box outline on that page only. Virus scans seem to come back clean.

Are y'all seeing the same -trying to see if I have a particularly nasty virus nothing seems to be picking up or if it's something else.

    Matt

Glad you figured it out. Did Norton NIS save you? Or another product?

    Cheers.

Super anti spyware found them and cleaned the system right up. I own licenses for both so 2 very excellent purchases.

Not a thing which surprised me-I was going to renew it, kind of having second thoughts now.

I'm having serious doubts on whether or not I want to keep it-the AV/C Tests were pretty poor and I only have roughly until the end of the year before the license expires.

I need opinions from the folks here as to if y'all think it will improve before the license expires.

    2 trojans

It's good that SAS found & cleaned them, but your comp is obviously set up in an unsecure way, and/or you allowed them in, albeit unknowingly, & i wouldn't rely on SAS finding Everything. You "might" be lucky & those were the only 2 nasties you were infected with, but i would Seriously recommend using other tools such as MBAM etc :thumb:

Also depending on how long those 2 nasties were in your comp, & what they were, your confidential data & transactions etc "could" have been compromised ? So as a precaution i would change ALL my passwords on Everything you use the internet for, ASAP.

You should tighten up your security & practices after this ;)

Do you have any idea where those 2 nasties came from, or "might" have ?

    Hey clone-

I forgot to mention I have mbam pro as well. As far as tightening things up, what do you or other forum members recommend? Also added free sandboxie

The Hammer beat me to it. Why should I forget about MBAM? I find it to be a wonderful program.

Disk imaging for sure (like Paragon). SUMo lite (free of all sponsors) or Secunia if you want. Maybe BitDefender TrafficLight, Comodo Secure DNS, and/or WOT, although none of those are necessary.

I guess I am paranoid since NIS didnt stop those threats, (thinking it's no good anymore just because of the AV/C results and those 2 trojans)

    What's wrong with my thinking?

Nothing that a little time won't cure. That's why you have the other stuff anyway.
