So that is the only way? I have tried with restoring to "before" but i probably had restored before that to a state with IFW but before creating the Wim so that So there is no other way, if i do not have that original backed up Wim i can not get rid of this.
Another way would be to create PE Macrium boot media instead of RE media. PE media don't use the RE wim. Do you have the backed up original wim? If not you can get it from another Win10 computer and replace the TB wim. Actually, you should have that backed up original wim in your OS partition images.
Long story short, i fixed it. But, i am actually disappointed with IFW. After years of reading about it, here mostly, how good it is, reliable, i do not concur. I thought i was getting something in the same order of reliability and superiority as Macrium has compared to most other backup software. That was my impression. But after install and testing backing up and restoring intensively, i got 2 blue screens rather immediatly, and then the misspelling of a letter that caused a problem. Now this. Nah. I just wonder how it is that everbody else that uses it on this forum can be so enthusiastic about it. Am i just unlucky! The bluescreens and even a automatic disc repair when rebooting after a restore makes me a bit nervous about future use of this program. Right now i do not know what to do with it. Otherwise i like it, the features and, the thought behind it.
I trusted IFW so much that i, clumpsy enough, after install deleted all my older internal MR backups. I had to go back with a corrupt external backup and then do a repair install on it. Then i did not see the Terabyte logo anymore in recovery mode.
Yeah, I agree with Mr.X. I've made hundred of restores with IFW and I've never had one issue, ever. You must have inadvertently done something.
I've also made numerous backups and restores. I've never had a failed restoration. The only trouble I had quite a few years ago was with PHYLock. It would time out. I switched to VSS and have never looked back. But that only affects system backups. I could be wrong, but I think the default setting is now VSS.
Time will tell. I will continue testing it and see if i can work it out. It can be a problem with the Pc causing it. Blue screens often are a problem with drivers to my experience.
Hi A problem has risen. After doing a repair install on W10 i installed IFW and attempted to create a wim file for booting when restoring. Not usb etc. Then it says that it can not do it due to that it can not find a wim file at default location etc. I do not understand this since i have not changed anything when installing IFW except that installation mode. I wanted control. And a repair install is practicaly a fresh install. Before this repair install, it worked. I have also "searched" for the wim file with succes, but it can not, still, create the booting option, only usb,cd, etc. How do i solve this?
pb1, what is the location of the wim? Can you run this from an admin command prompt... reagentc /info What is the output?
In WinRE.backup in IFW folder. The output was disabled, so i enabled it. Then the message was - The Windows RE image was not found. Could this be due to that i moved the recovery partition, maybe something went wrong with its containing info?
https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...ent-windows-re-partition.439936/#post-3029248 Have a look through this thread. I'm on holidays and don't have access to my computer or notes.
It is solved, thank you. Sometimes it is some little info that gets one to understand how things work. Thanks again.
@Brian K Just wondering if image for windows or linux is close to macium reflect, i have posted and i got an answer Brian may I ask 3 question about image for windows/linux Write Changed Secotor Only? 1) does it work with hard disk or only with ssd ? 2) and does it work with smaller or bigger partitions? 3) ps but why sometime create boot media is gray ? boot with image for linux and is avaible , boot with image for windows are all gray windows/linux/dos/uefi thanks
mantra, Write changed sectors only applies to SSDs that support DRAT. Partition size is irrelevant. It doesn't work with hard drives. I don't understand your question 3. What is Gray?
Hi Brian is greay to option to create a boot media i add a screenshot https://i.imgur.com/bZeqlSu.png
Hi Brian I guess because I have performed a custom installtion without image for linux, dos and uefi now i have uninstalled terabyte and installed only image for windows with its components and i can create a windows boot media I guess image for w/l/d/u is checking the installation , if you have all components installed it let you to create a resque disk for example for windows or linux that's my guess thanks Brian
Hi. This program is rolling on nicely on my new Pc but i wonder, is there a way to set the 2 priority settings to always be at HIGH?
