    Mata7,

Excellent, again. Your image/backup procedures are now so easy. Double click to image, single click to restore.

I like the validate function and I suggest you keep it. But if you don't want to validate, use this in tbos.str.

Are there other members using TBOS?

Brian call me crazy but i trust this software 100%, i create like 25 backup on 3 different OS, XP , Vistax32, Vistax64 and i restore all that image like 50 times and never have any corrupt image or any problem like that, so i fell comfortable of skip validate function

and now this is getting even better for me, i setup 2 key on my keyboard one for backup and one for restore, so now i just press on key to restore or one key to backup

im living the American dream :D

big thanks to you one more time

    My CIA friends told me.

That's not true. You mentioned your family lives in Cuba in an earlier thread.

Regarding Validate. It's not really to test whether your imaging app has done a good job. It's main function is to test whether your hardware will allow a restore. For example, your image may be good but you can't restore because of failing RAM. Validation will detect these kind of problems. Validation should be done at least occasionally on images stored on your HD.

Correct. That's all you have to do. I have a batch file for that if you want it.

    The batch file is....

You can name the batch file anything. eg validate.bat
The batch file can be moved around your computer to any folder but for it to work it must be in the folder containing the image and the image must be named Vista.tbi

    mata7,

You certainly know how to get the best out of your tbos.bin. I guess you know that you will be able to upgrade image.exe in tbos.bin when IFD is next updated. You will always be able to use the latest image.exe. Just drag it into tbos.bin using UltraISO.

    sure does thanks Brian:thumb:
it works with automation using task scheduler as long as use the option "run only
when a user is logged in" if i use the run weither a user is logged in or not it doesnt seem to work, the process starts but the processes use no CPU usage and the image file doesnt appear. so gonna just keep the current options which work.
of course i also tick the run with highest rights option.
is there anyway of making it more hidden? of course the gui and cmd window show.
with paragon i have the option to minimize to tray and have an icon next to the clock. if not dont worry i can live with it.

    lodore,

The first line should make the command window run minimized. Can you see your command window?

If you use the console version of IFW, there is no GUI, so only a minimized command window.

Regarding "a user is logged in or not"...

PS.... I just noticed my "Run only if logged on" is not ticked.

I prefer using the console version with batch files because it runs minimized.

PS.... keep the console files in their own folder and call it IFWC. Put it in C:\Program files

    Your batch file would be

Do you want to keep a certain number of images, with the oldest being automatically deleted?

IFWC doesn't have a trial version.

Do you have enough HD space for 14 full images. Just inquiring. I do a base image weekly and daily differential images. By the end of the week, the differential size is only 3% of the base size. But I guess you would prefer all base images?

ah right k i will wait until i buy the program for the console version of IFW
atm with 7 paragon images of C: i have 189gb free out of 232gb on my second harddrive Z: called backup. 30gb extra if i deleted the paragon images which i will once i buy IFW. just have to wait a few weeks for the funds.
i dont mind what type of images as long as i can restore any of them whenever i need to. i test software alot and once ive finished i restored yesterdays image created at 5pm everyday. so please create me a batch file which creates a weekly base image and daily differental images.
will IFW in a future version support incremental images?

    I've no idea.

I used to like incrementals (Ghost app) but now I prefer differentials. But I've had no problems with either.

You should create some differential images manually and restore them before deciding whether you will use a batch file for differentials. You may love or hate differentials.

    Try this...

The most recent image will be C_01.TBI. Images are renamed when a new one is created and when you get to 14 images, the oldest is deleted. Try making a few images, one after another and you will get the hang of the naming.
