We can understand the grief. Just like Elvis, FDISR forever will lives in the hearts of his fans.
For the rest of us, Elvis is just what he is.....dead.

    R.I.P.:ninja:

That's why I called my approach R.I.P.S. = Rollback Intrusion Prevention System or
Rest In Peace System (= terminated FDISR).

    Nope.

It will never be terminated or dismissed by it's customers, it's very much alive and works exceptionally well as day one, only now out of reach for the masses.

And the rest is what they say history, but certainly not for the Raxco distributed customers of it.

Yes, but it's become somewhat like discussions of the Commodore 64. You can still find those that have it, discuss it, and praise it. But you can't recommend it to those seeking a computer, as a viable suggestion or solution. It's not available, and it's not an option.

Was chatting along these lines to my local 'man in local PC shop' and we decided it might be a fun to start an Amiga revival cos we still both own one, however I seem to remember it was one of the first machines to get attacked by virus's even before internet.

Sorry, but that comparison is far too removed from a program of the order of original FD-ISR.

Look folks, sorry as any other customer that it's gone, but it's just as formidable and useful as the day it was first installed, plus doesn't suffer from issues that almost all other programs go through.

I just consider myself one of the lucky fellows who heeded all the noise over it last summer, and it's elevation to cloud level status enough to try it myself, and it's been everything AND MORE for me than what everyone was raving about.

But using Commodore as an analogy? It's not been gone that long :D

Yes,now we have OLDTIMERS with a special status and NOVICES hungry to learn as much from them....just kidding .
But everything is transient and cults come and go,so i have no illusions about the FDISR community eventually fade in time. But at the moment be happy with your toy,its good stuff honestly.

What makes me curious is why people who don't have it and supposedly aren't interested spend so much time hanging around in an online support group for it?

I know a bit more about computers than i did
8 years ago when i got my first one. There are
days though when it doesn't seem like much more.
I'm still perfectly capable of doing something
really dumb. FD-ISR has saved me from the
consequences of dumb stuff several times.
    I'm a big fan of it.:D

Since this thread has already shown a tendency to start down some unproductive paths, I believe that it's time to close it down before that opportunity is fully realized.

Discussions of FD-ISR in it's various flavors are certainly welcome to develop in new threads as desired.
