If a drive dies, can you install a new drive and do a restore from a IFW image, using Image For Dos to the new drive?

    THANKS

Yes, provided the size of new drive is equal to or larger than that of the old drive.

Great, one last one, do you need to format the drive in the case of just using one C: partiton, will it make one?

Or do you need to partition and format before you can reinstall with IFD?

    THANKS...

    bellgamin,

That does apply to ver 1 IFW but not to ver 2. Ver 2 can restore to a partition smaller than the original. How small that partition can be depends on the data spread in the original partition.

    Ah, :)
IIRC correctly, V1.x will restore to smaller partition subject to data spread, but this option is not visible in the GUI ??
Could use BING or Gparted to shrink your current partition to fit new HD if req.
