If a file is signed does that mean it is clean?

    The bottom line is that the answer to the original question is no. If the signature verifies probably. If it doesn't then it is incomplete, corrupt, or tampered with. If from there you are still concerned and you can get a CRC32/MD5/SHA-1 check that and then there is no more question.
