    Re: IE Or FireFox

Just installed Firefox after a long time wondering about the browser.
So far I am impressed very light to load as I haven't added any extensions (trying to keep it light for my laptop) tabs are a bit different to work out compared to Opera but hopefully I will have the finer configs. made soon. I definitely prefer FF to IE & like the fact I have the choice of what I want to add & keep it light if I want to. At long last I have got there with Firefox.

I like tabs but FF tabs are different - definitely need to sort these out.

I have had a great time with Firefox and the one thing I really like is the way that I can personalize it to my likes. It seems faster to me, but what are a few millaseconds (sp)?

Not everyone likes the same flavor of ice cream, that is why Baskin-Robins made it so big. To each person the browser that he or she likes best.

first of all, i don't like the way people are telling everybody that IE is unsafe.

If everybody would leave IE and choose any other browser,
half of the people who live from MS security problems,
would soon be out of business.

So use IE, eh... but on your on risk.

    :D

And.. use an old unpatched version of IE with Active-x , java etc. enabled,
use outlook for mail and try to download as many gigabytes via P2P software as possible.
And have you pc checked or reinstalled by a pc security specialist once a week.

I use the Mozilla SeaMonkey suite and really love it. I wanted an alternative to Firefox, and didn't like the others. SeaMonkey is faster than Firefox for me, plus I'm a sucker for suites :D

It's very difficult to beat a properly configured FF browser. FF is also faster than IE and Opera, especially with multi-page load time. The Fox uses more memory and CPU clock time, which may explain why some PC users cannot realize the full potential of FF.

Err...I've got a 3GHz CPU and 1GB of DDR400 RAM on my computer, and even then I found SeaMonkey to be faster than Firefox.

But Firefox is better (and faster) than IE anyday. Opera was nice, but it didn't suit me. :)

I'm a bit of an MS fan myself so always IE.

I did consider switching till I got my hands on IE7. Now I'm gripped again.

Since the release of IE beta 3 I will say I prefer IE over Firefox. I am not a firefox fan anyway but the new IE does work well. But my default browser is Opera.

    Opera hands down.
I already thought it was by far the best browser, now that version 9 is out, it's even better if possible.

And so at last the beast fell and the unbelievers rejoiced.
But all was not lost, for from the ash rose a great bird.
The bird gazed down upon the unbelievers and cast fire
and thunder upon them. For the beast had been
reborn with its strength renewed, and the
followers of Mammon cowered in horror  .

    Internet Explorer 6 here.
    With tabbed browsing enabling add-on.

Opera 9 is fast, small but almost compatible.
Firefox is great, but startup is slow.
And at the end there are a few sites that only work with IE.

    Re: IE Or FireFox

I have two MAJOR issues with Opera:

    - Let's say I have ten open tabs. If I click on tab #5 and close this tab, then Opera automatically switches to tab #1. Firefox would open tab #6. I often use Tab #1 as my home page and I do not want to go to my home page each time I close an Opera windows.

    - It's not possible to configure Opera to display the URL and tool bar on ONE line.

Firefox, mainly for the rendering engine, extensions and profile manager.

Internet Explorer for testing and 'backup ' for IE-only sites.
