I'd treat Secunia's figures with caution; they're more to do with K-Meleon's relatively low profile, with less effort invested into discovering its weaknesses.

As both use the Gecko engine, most Firefox vulnerabilities have also applied to K-Meleon - this one for instance - although K-Meleon is free of bugs related to Firefox's XUL interface.

FWIW K-Meleon is my main browser too. :)

Firefox - tabbed browsing (mouse-wheel click opens a link in new tab).

Tried opera - just didn't like the GUI.

Use IE for some intranet and banking applications.

IE is my favorite, I tried FF and was glad to see the back of it. It was a nuisance when it had to use IE, then it became very disordered.
Just downloaded IE7 beta and it seems to be a good job.

I am IE fan, I used it for years. IE is the most configurable browser (talking about security settings) without additional extensions, so it can be set up to be really secure, but it still can not block referrers and it has problem blocking cookies effectively (even when set to High).

I use both, but Firefox mostly mainly because of the tabbed browsing. If IE7 works well with its new tab functions, I may go back to using that exclusively.

I like IE and have never experienced the problems other people seem to experience using it, it works for me.

Staying with the Mozilla suite since I use all of it. Runs circles around IE6. Don't like Firefox nearly as much. Haven't tried Opera.

I have changed my choice of browsers recently.

Firefox is no longer on my machines.......the more updates the worse performance has become. The latest version meant EVERY single extension I used was made unusable. If they are going to release an update it should be compatible with the extensions, which are always quoted as being the advantage of firefox.

Having tried IE7 Beta 2, I have to say I love it .This really is a good browser ,
    very nice to use.

My other browser of choice is the latest version of Opera....(8.54) ,I had tried Opera before and not liked it at all but the new version is superb ,this is now definitely a keeper!

Opera - still on version 8.54 but looking forward to v9 and only just discovering the inner depths of Opera which I didn't realise I could configure. I took a while to like Opera and always considered FF to be the best alternative when I noted how many people ran FF.
I have followed a lot of topics on the browser and still have to be convinced it is worth a trial run even more so now so many @Wilders have changed from FF now.

Hope IE7 is better than 6 as I will use this in preference to Avant (only used for tabs on sites which need IE)
Would consider FF if I can be convinced with a new version handling tabs efficiently and without the memory 'features' evident in this version.
If Opera 9 is as good as reports suggest then I wouldn't have the dilemma ;) only reservation is the BitTorrent intregration :(

    Hello,
18,000K or 180,000K what's the difference when you have 2,000,000K?
    Mrk

    P.S. FF with 10 extensions and 15-20 tabs open takes ~ 55K.

Opera of course! I use FF as an alternative if needed. IE is used once a month for updates, a site that requires IE and won't work in Opera of FF.

Example: On line scanners. I haven't found one yet that will work in Opera or FF. But I haven't tried a lot of them neither.

Opera 8.54 is default, Firefox as a back up (which I never use).

I only use Firefox because of Adblock.
    Opera is only for testing.
IE for windows update & mail.

Firefox seems to be winner in this poll. My choice too.
Unfortunately, it's not "IE or Firefox", but "IE and Firefox". I still need IE and that's a pity.

Hi Nash, to me , opera has the best GUI among all browsers and u can skin it easily.
The whell click works as well and it has so many built in functions that u can,t get even with a pile od extensions in FF.

    Maxthon!

I find it much easier to render webpages. Yes, IE's got a few vulnerabilities [sarcasm], but when one disables scripts, activex, pictures, it gets much better! :D

    Re: IE Or FireFox

    You can't.

K-Meleon does not use firefox extensions. Instead, it uses macros to install extensions. There are not that many available, but if you look on the k-meleon website, they have builds of k-meleon which have some of the key extensions like noscript, adblock with the updaters, etc. built into the product.

    Cheers,

Thanks alphalutra1 I will test it. To bad it doesnt do what FF does, but I guess that is why K-meleon is faster :) I guess there is a price to pay if one wants to configure tha browser the way one wants.
