Opera here as my main browser, Avant which uses IE. for those sites that I trust and that need active x to work properly.
Linux FF in WMplayer for visiting any dodgy sites :)

    FireFox. Hands down.

Tried Opera, didn't really like it.
IE doesn't have all the cool features I enjoy with FF.

IE is my backup for those sites that don't look right or load properly within firefox.

    Firefox for the win.

I've tried Opera a few times and just don't like it.

IE I have no use for at all.

Firefox ! I love the flexability ~ and I sure got addicted browsing with tabs.
Wouldn't want to miss it anymore for anything. :D

I also like Opera...but you can't do much with it... just that it's nice fast..unfortunately the Cookie functions are for Geniuses. :( ;)

I'm not worried or impressed by all these Opera fans.
One day Opera will have more security holes, than Firefox and then all these Opera fans will go back to Firefox, the most flexible browser on earth.

Being the safest browser is a matter of dates. We firefox users are fully aware of this and that's why we still use Firefox.
We only TRY Opera, because Opera is "in" at the moment and we don't want to discourage Opera fans either. :D

They also get really touchy when I tell them that I use K-Meleon which is even faster than there almighty "Opera". Then you add Treewalk DNS, and your mouse can't keep up with the pages :D

Actually for me its the bloat of Firefox that drove me away. It uses more CPU then Opera and IE6 combined on my computer at times. Right now Opera is running at 18,000K as I type this... :D

Opera for the majority, obviously IE on sites that require it

Got sick of stuff not working in FF, through alllll the revisions I've tried. Opera also blows the doors off of FF speedwise.

I'd like to see some verifiable benchmarks for this, I've tried it, don't believe so, plus it's based on the (ugh) Gecko engine. Same rendering issues I had in FF were in this.

Using your own DNS would logically affect performance of any browser across the board.

    Re: IE Or FireFox

Let me rephrase what I said for all the Opera lovers whom I have undully offended. K-Meleon, for me renders pages quicker and loads them faster than opera does on my computer. It does the same on many of my friends computers in town.

I know that having my own DNS would help all of my browsers, and I have used it with Opera and K-Meleon, so it is not a factor in my "sense" of speed. I also have some tweaks enabled in K-Meleon in a customizable macro located at K-meleon's home page to make it load faster as well.

I wonder why the "(ugh) Gecko engine is so (ugh)? Is this a verifiable comment? :D Likewise, it is all a matter of opinions. I prefer K-Meleon and it works faster on MY machine. I don't mind the Gecko engine, and everything loads just as fast. I also like how K-Meleon uses less RAM than other alternate browsers(firefox in particular). K-Meleon is also very customizable without the added bloat of extensions.

In the end, it is a matter of a person's pc, and there preferences. That is all.

The Fox Rules. Reasons, better security, extensions, themes, and plug ins. I have and use Opera occasionally.

Just thought of another reason supporting k-meleon. This is an Opera lover trick against firefox and ie users.

    Do the math:
    K-Meleon
    Opera

If my rememberance of elementary school serves me correctly, the difference is twelve, with k-meleon only having one.

Thought this might be interesting information for those tracking security vulnerabilities and the number each product has had in the past.

You got that right. Discussions like this are only good for a social chat and can last forever.
I like Firefox, you like K-Meleon, others like Opera. Who cares anyway ?
It would be boring if everybody used the same browser.

    Re: IE Or FireFox

Precisecly, I would hate it if everyone used the same browser, because then advancements in browser technology would stagnate since no competition and new ideas are made by other browsers. Just with security software, I am prone to change rather quickly my browsers. So who knows, I may be using Opera v9 in the next couple of months :D . Then I would have to formulate a new argument to defend opera vs. other browsers. At least I know what to do in my free time o_O :D
