how any people will change their security set up after todays results from av-comparatives
the sig watching begins.
indeed. Let's see how much influence IBK has
Unless Placebo av comes out on top I'll stick with running naked.
I am looking at IBK results ( along with some other tests) to finalize a buy.
But it may not necessarily end up on my personal laptop.
IBK most probably didn't test NIS2009 so I have nothing on this test and I'm quite happy with NIS
You know you will see changes.
But not here.
Well, Trustport, Eset, F-secure, and eScan have lost their ADVANCED+ status, while McAfee and Microsoft have dropped to STANDARD.. no products have improved.
I don't chg I still use the standard 3 or 4, isn't that what everybody does
Kaspersky back up to advanced+...really pushed the heuristics since the last test.
I wouldn't be changing even if they got stanard though
It is not a retrospective test Baz.
Had a late night...still haven't had coffee
true, but heuristics had their part probably since f-secure and eScan only got Advanced
I'm rooting for Avast to do well,
F-Secure has their in-house heuristic engine.
But eScan uses Kaspersky Kit and if I remember correctly no in-house heuristics. Only addition is use of Microworld WinSock Layer ...
I know the results come out today, but how much does it really matter?
337, don't believe every little article that you come across and read.
These tests that many swoon over, have as much credit as such articles as was provided. The point is, keep what you have. Just wanted to give some contrast to the topic. However, (morbidly) I do enjoy watching the sigs change as well!!
what will the result be available? its 10:40pm here in the philippines.
I do agree that it is an event kicking back and watching the lemmings running back and forth to the av's that scored higest. should be on the wild world of sports or worlds funniest videos.
I'll stay with what I have.
And what's that than , Hammer?
I am tossing between renewing subscription of Avira or going for Norton 2009...
Thats a real tough call. I hoped the tests would provide some help, but they just made it worse !!
