I love how light it is on my system and offers one of the best protection according to many reviews I read online!

    Got a 3 year / 3 user license for $148....not a bad deal :D

I don't trust free AV apps personally

thanks bro, I own a license for ESS and KIS and was on a long quest trying to find the best security suite for my needs...I tried many free ones but this one best fits my needs in terms of security / performance :)

What i like about Bitdefender is that they have a pretty good HIPS integrated. :D :thumb:
When you turn off all the auto things it becomes a pop up heaven, hahahahaha.

Nope, my setup is in my signature.
But i've tried Bitdefender many times before. :D
Bitdefender would be my preferred choice out of the "BIG" players.

I hope you like it for that long. I tend not to buy a license longer than a year as I never know day to day what I am going to be running. o_O

    Ditto that..:thumb:
I really want to like Bitdefender, really, but when I trialed BIS a couple of months ago, I just ran into too many problems with it, and had to uninstall it. A pity, it really has a lot to offer if it works for you..

Reading the description of your hardware, id suspect that almost ALL antimalware products will run well on that machine.

I know it's not a good idea to buy more than a year but you get a bigger discount so I bit the bullet :d

Well, I'm glad SOMEBODY still likes BitDefender! I used BD for several years, and tried very hard to like/use their latest TotalSecurity product. After several rounds of frustration on two different systems, I gave up....:doubt:

    I find this very strange..

This is probably the ONLY security suite that I never had to touch a single setting to get it to work smoothly...everything works out of the box and is super fast

I did read many complaints on the Bitdefender forums regarding slow internet but I tried the demo and noticed my internet was exactly the same with 0 slow down which tempted me to purchase the license...

I suggest u give the demo another chance...it's awesome! and the security + only 5% impact on performance is way better than other suites..

    just my 2 cents

I've trusted my computers to the free version of avast! for years, excellent protection.

USA still the best. But barely.
I like my Roboscan Internet Security Free. It has the latest BD engine & definitions.

Good Evening ! Just purchased Bitdefender I.S.2012 for $12.97 1 P.C. at V3.Co.UK Software store. It's running light and nimble so far. Just wondering...does the Anti Virus have a Scheduler function ? Or is it manually initiated ? Sincerely...Securon

I really like Bitdefender and own it. I would really give it hard consideration on using it if it didnt kill FD-ISR every time I load it. I tried excluding it but it really kills it.

Securon, you can disable any schedule scans and create your own.

Good Evening ! Checked out Bitdefender Forum and a Scheduler is no longer used...and has been formally replaced by the Auto Pilot Mode which continuously scans...so I imagine if you have to scan it's initiated manually. That's it in nutshell. Sincerely...Securon

Tried it once, random problems with it, including slow internet browsing, then on top of those came random kicks by PunkBuster in CoD4 saying 'Unknown Windows API'. It just had to go.

If I were to use a real-time AV, I would definitely try Roboscan free. Both its engines are on top in vb rap.

Tried the latest build and...bang...immediately got a BSOD. Tried this 3 times and each time...BSOD. And boy, did it slow down my boot time when compared to other solutions I have trialled.

So am afraid that this one is not for me...especially if I cannot trial it properly.
