I heard there is a new version of Windows Defender

    Can anyone tell me if this is true? It doesn't say there is an update for it on my laptup but on the family laptop it does.

    It is still at version 1.1.1347.0

    What version of WD are you using, in Help > About?

    According to the official Microsoft Windows Defender newsgroup, the current version numbers are:

    Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1347.0
    Engine Version: 1.1.1481.0
    Definition Version: 1.14.1525.2

    1.1.1347.0 is the Beta 2 refresh released in April, but some people are still using the Beta 2 first release, so it alerts the users to download the Beta 2 refresh. The automatic update only updates the definitions, not the software itself.
