This horrible application is sitting in Explorer. I googled and found out it was added by the BOOHOO WORM!.

I have used the Symantec tool, McAfee Stinger, CWshredder, Sygate scans etc. and no worm was found.

However, the .exe programme will not dellete and I want to get rid of it.

What programme will remove obstinate apps?

I have tried GiPoBoot but it failed to remove it....there must be somethingo_O

This one should be fairly simple to remove. Instructions are given here:- http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/bat.boohoo.worm.html
It is just a question of carefully following them - for example, look for and stop the process called svhost.exe, making sure you do not confuse it with svchost.exe!

You just have to be systematic about it. Are you using Norton AV?

If you find you don't have any of the signs and symptoms referred to, and it is just the one file you need to remove, then there are tools you can use to try deleting it on a reboot. But try the above first and let us know.

I have already run the Symantec programme, plus others such as McAfee Stinger.

I do not use Norton at all, although I did some years ago.

All tests showed I was free of any infection.

The one thing that annoys me is that i have this .exe application HitRun.exe, which just refuses to be removed.

I tried to remove it with GiPoBoot but it failed.

I will try doing it in safe mode, but I have yet to find a programme which will just get rid of such persistent applications, which sits and does nothing for me!
