How to Reinstall OS and reformat Drive

I am hoping to get step by step instructions on how to wipe my HD clean, and do a total reformat , followed by reinstalling the XP Pro from the disks I have. I have Acronis True Image 11 Home edition. Can anyone spell this out for me in laymans terms? I would need all details from back up of files all the way through how to reinstall OS, followed by how to reinstall individual programs....thank you.

 

Is the XP Pro in a True Image archive on HD or DVD or are you talking about the XP Pro installation CD from MS or the computer vendor?

Thank you for your interesting in Acronis True Image

Using Acronis True Image 11 Home you can’t restore separate applications from the image, you can restore the whole system which will include operating system, all applications with their settings, e-mail and all data. So in your case the best way will be reinstall system from the scratch using Windows installation disc.
