How to pass the trick from GRC shield Test

    OK. What closes all your ports then? Your ISP?

    Hello,
    The ports are closed because there is nothing to listen on them, no service. Closed ports are no magic. You send a packet to port XXXXX. Nothing is there, so it is closed...

    In post #23 ports 135 & 139 were open, but that could be because NetBIOS over TCP/ip is enabled in network settings.

    That's right. I didn't disable anything. Just wanted to do the scan without any firewall and without changing either DMZ settings in the router or putting the Shields Up probe address as trusted in a software firewall. I'd expect the results to be the same anyway.

    Done that when I powered it up :) I had to disable a few options however, as it was killing my dl speed (took 30% of the speed away, which is a no no in my book).

    Oh and this is all the firewall features in my really cheap router:
