How to delete restored directory which is corrupted?

Whilst evaluating whether to upgrade to version 9, I did a restore of part of an image.

I now want to delete the directory I restored too. However I can't delete it as Windows says "File or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

Any ideas how I can delete this directory?

 

"Undeleteable" files and folders can be deleted from BartPE.

Search the Internet for the free downloadable utility called Killbox.
You'll probably need to use the option to delete at next reboot.

 

The other option is to format the drive.

I had a similar problem trying to restore selcted files from a full image. The files could not be accessed nor deleted. The directory entries appeared to be okay but trying to access the actual bytes ofthe files -- no dice.

You can try to reboot into safe mode with dos prompt and see if you can do it that way. Don't do it this way though if you're not familiar with dos commands...etc....otherwise you might really screw it up.
