How to use the Acronis TrueImage Home “Add Disk” function
to delete all existing partitions from a previously used new or old hard drive
and create unallocated space in preparation for a cloning or disk restoration.

With TI it shouldn't matter if the new HD is partitioned or unallocated space. However, if you want to play it safe, delete any pre-existing partitions on the new hard drive. There have been reported instances of pre-used (new or old) drives containing (suspected) previous partition information which may have hindered successful cloning failures. Be safe. Delete the old partitions before beginning a cloning function or disk restoration. It only takes a few extra minutes in what is probably a one time situation. Examples created with V10-4942.

Final result should look like this upon next inspection
    for either cloning or restoration.

Compare this picture with image DP-03 above
and you will see the partitions have been deleted
    and the space is unallocated.
