    Come on guys.... 40mb for a firewall is nothing... ZA Pro also has quite a bit more to it than just a plain traditional firewall/packet filter. I doubt there is anyone here that has less than 512mb with XP, and that is plenty right there to run ZA Pro. Most probably have much more. If it performs well, then who really cares if it eats 10mb, 20mb, 40mb or even 80mb...

    yes im sure people do have much more than they need for 40mb but still compare to other products that are just as feature filled if not more like OA or comodo for example which run MUCH lighter on memory. and the fact that ZA pro increases start up and shut down times by an amount that is to much for me. but if u dont mind those thing, then its a great product.

    On Vista Home Premium:

    vsmon = ~64,000K
    zlclient = ~3,000K

    Kind of ridiculous, so I removed it and will buy Outpost Pro instead.

    Most apps like this are using plenty of ram, even ones that don't show much in task manager are hiding their ram usage. When you compare apps and ram used, measure your free available ram before and after installing the app. That's the true measure of what it's really using, regardless of what task manager or others show.

    And by the way the original question from the operator has been basically answered.

    That is: memory usage in ZAPRO varies very much from system to system from 20 to 80 (?) MB.
    This is usually depending on the software installed and number of processes running.

    The only way to know how much ZA will consume in your system is to install it.

    Cheers,
    Fax

    Re-read post #29, and then tell me what it's using... ;)
