How many snapshots do you have and ...

    An imaging program isn't going to see the different snapshot as separate. To the imaging program all the snapshots are part of Drive C:

    Peter. It was my polite way of saying that as FDiSR AND his imaging program are not working as they should, maybe he should look at his machine first...:)

    Okay, but I would like Woody to clarify what he is trying to restore, and what the failure is that he is seeing.

    Otherwise we are both guessing.

    Hello Pete,

    I have actually practiced this procedure on a 256 MB RAM laptop of my family, in order to accomplish some performance improvement.
    Compared to the clean installation in a empty snapshot that I also did, I want to add that stripping down does not result in similar performance improvement.

    I thought it would be of interest.
    By the way, I'm enjoying a cool summer around 70 F degrees! :cool:

    That doesn't surprise me. I didn't do it for performance improvement, just cutting back the disk space for imaging purposes.

    1. I have a primary Windows XP snapshot for daily use
    2. A secondary Win XP snapshot which gets updated before making changes to my primary snapshot
    3. A bare base Win XP snapshot
    4. A Win XP archive as backup on an external usb drive

    5. A Vista x64 snapshot for software testing and compiling tasks.
    6. A Vista x64 archive as backup on an external usb drive
