Hello, That's quite low. Even on my friend's old computer (which has no internet and running XP SP2) he has, at the least, 25.
Currently 72 on my Thinkpad T60p laptop, Vista Ultimate. Core 2 Duo and plenty of ram...no worries, she's no slouch.
Nowadays I've realized there were so many unneeded programs when I first bought my Asus computer: it is at the moment running on 55 processes with the x32 version, and 50 with the x64. Speed has hardly changed though, so in the end I can't see any advantage in reducing processes with Vista.
Yeah this Asus laptop with 32 bit Ultimate has 87 processes and nearly all of these were "out of the box" things. It's a high spec machine, so it doesn't effect it but i really dislike it so i've made no attempt to clean up the junk.
