Now I have 18 extensions synced on both computers. And of course default browser changed from Firefox to Chrome over a year ago.
Bombermine (simple Chrome app link made by me) Adblock Plus (EasyPrivacy+EasyList, Malware Domains, Anti-Adblock Killer|Filters for Adblockers) Always Clear Downloads BackSpaceMeansBackspace Beat the Boot (by Google) Grooveshark Downloader History Limiter LastPass Link2Clip Mailto: ScriptSafe Selection Search Tampermonkey (Ads Skipper, Anti-Adblock Killer|Reek, Docs Online Viewer, Remove Google Redirection, Webcomic Reader, YouTube Center) The RGB Game TrafficLight VTchromizer WOT X-notifier (for Gmail™,Hotmail,Yahoo,AOL...) There are 9 more apps (games) not listed in chrome://extensions/.
A couple of broad questions about ScriptSafe, J_L... How important do you consider it to be in your security set up? Or, to put it another way, is it something that you would hate to do without? And, how much attention does it need? Set & forget, or always messing with it? Does it limit your browser experience?
It's something I'd rather have, although not a necessity. I pretty much set & forget it with Default Allow Mode and Relaxed Unwanted Content Mode (plus Chrome's click-to-play plugins). It usually doesn't limit my browser experience, but I had to whitelist a few sites due to its aggressive combination of blacklists.
I use Tampermonkey for the "Anti-Adblock Killer|Reek" userscript that does not work directly on Chrome
Why don't you put Ads Host Cleaner, Ads Skipper, SaveTube, and Youtube-MP3 button in Tampermonkey as well? They will work better and get automatic updates.
Here my set-up (Dragon, not Chrome). I have 5. Trafficlight, Adblock, WOT, ScriptSafe and Edit this Cookie. Having none seems strange to me. Most of those that are common to many are browser security enhancements.
I run them both as well. Same job, different filters, different results. Also, TL will block a page, whereas WOT will not... if I am not mistaken. Btw, dogbite, using ZenMate made me realize that the service overrides Norton DNS or Comodo DNS. So I'm choosing between the benefits of one over the other. I think ZenMate may win that contest.
I tried Zenmate a few days ago but stopped using it because it slowed me down to much and used about 600 MB of Memory.
I haven't had that experience, even on an older XP machine with only 3GB ram... maybe a little, but on the W7 machines, no noticeable diff.
In Chrome Settings if you have...Continue running backgroung apps when chrome is closed checked off ..Zenmate raised my memory at idle from 1300 to 1900 MB. With Chrome open it went up from 1900.
I'm beginning to see some periodic, dramatic slowdowns with ZenMate. They acknowledge it and blame it on growing pains and promise better performance very soon.
Dear ZenMates, good news! Today we improved our infrastructure and remarkably accelerated our performance. Please make sure you are using the latest version (3.1.1)......https://zenmate.io/home/
