The new GUI and the dropping of their own firewall has put off some of their old users. As mentioned above PUP/PUA/adware/spyware protection is not great but is improving and the initial install can take a relatively long time before all modules are updated. Official testing reveals relatively very good protection as seen with Real-World Protection Tests over at av-comparatives and av-test.org; see for example http://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus...-2014/f-secure-internet-security-2014-143144/ Always light as a feather for the last couple of versions on my machines.

Prices for single licenses can be expensive but take into account that Finland is an expensive country and they sell a lot of licenses to Businesses such as the big ISPs e.g Virgin Media in the UK; http://store.virginmedia.com/discover/broadband/security/f-secure-safe.html so I cannot see the price changing anytime soon. Also, IME, official support can be patchy but they have some good users helping out on their Home Forum site, Simon and NikK who offer sound help.

Those thinking of trying F-Secure, they have a Beta which IME is very stable and you receive a key for 6 months which should be plenty of time to decide whether you like it or not; https://beta.f-secure.com/signup/; https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/labs_global/beta-programs

    Active forum as well; https://community.f-secure.com/t5/Home-Security/bd-p/Windows_Technology_Preview

Regarding the 1.5% user dependent. Using F-Secure Safe the DeepGuard detections are auto blocked, and then monitored with application control.

Wow nice, they've improved from back when I used to use them!

My ISP gives F-Secure away for free, but they are usually behind on updates to the packages, and I haven't used it for a long time.

Try it out the Demo bro, initially, when I tried the demo last year, I didn't like it because it had this floating launcher in the bottom right which you needed to launch the main GUI, this is gone now and you get 1 icon for F-Secure which when double clicked, launches the main GUI, it's very veyr light ~ Removed Off Topic AV Comparisons Remark ~, you will change your opinion once you try it out.
