How good is ClamWin?

I tried installing avast but it gave me a blue screen of death

And I tried Avira, but find it sluggish and seems to make my online game runs sluggish too.

And so I thought I will just use Clamwin portable.

BTW, I installed Hitman PRO 3.5 too, as it doesn't install itself which I like, it only sort off runs without being in memory.

if you're having issues with AV protection slowing games down, why not exclude the game directories from on-access protection and supplement the lack of on-access scanning with a weekly on-demand scan?

i couldn't find a single recent legitimate comparative of clamav or clamwin. most recent av-c did was in 2008, and it detected 50% of their on-demand scanning test.

@trjam - the reason immunet does well in MRG's testing is because IP doesn't rely on the clamwin defs alone.

 

That wasn't what we were talking about. Since LODBROK won't prove his/her views, I won't waste any more time on this.

 

I know that. But when you counter a false statement with one of your own, the argument is indeed a waste of time, hence the comment about splitting hairs. You guys should lighten up a little.

 

I will try the very latest Avira and see how that goes.
