how can I get rid of the umbrella splash screen?

there should be an option to totally disable the time-consuming splash screen in Antivir. but, I can't seem to find one. can anybody help me? I'm using Antivir Premium, BTW.

 

Try this :

Start>Run>regedit
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ click on avgnt
Add the parameter /nosplash to this entry

My HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\avgnt Value data entry looks like this:

"C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\avgnt.exe\" /min /nosplash

what I guess can't be removed is the splash when you double click the tray icon, right?

 

Right... unless you employ a hex editor.

 

Personally, I like the screen.

 

believe me, I think the splash is kinda nice. it just made me feel that it was wasting accessing time. after opening the program without it, I realized it's not. so I don't mind anymore.

Anyone who does disable the great and beautiful splash screen shall be excommunicated from the Church Of The Umbrella!

Just for the record, disabling the splash will not speed up loading times... i think i've mentioned that a couple of times already

 

I follow instructions, but I can't seem to find that registry file any help would be great, thanks.

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run: avgnt "C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\avgnt.exe" /min /nosplash

/nosplash needs to be added! and don't forget a space after /min
