What are 2 of the best programs to check the condition of the Hard Drive and RAM? And is there a way to boot a USB stick and run the 2 programs from the USB stick?

I want to check the hard drive and RAM on an old PC.

    Cheers.:thumb:

    Memtest86+ for RAM.

You can use DSKCHECK for the HDD.

Where is this DSKCHECK? Never heard of it and, from what Google points to, it's a trojan. I hope you're really just misspelling CHKDSK.

    Really? A trojan?

Do you know of any boot USB ISO that I can use to boot a USB stick that has memtest86+ on it and a hard drive sector checker?

You can use Universal USB installer to run Hirens boot cd from a USB. From Hirens you can run, for instance, Memrest86+ for RAM and HDAT2 for HDD.

No, sorry, no help with your original question. My only point is, while many are aware of CHKDSK, I can't find anything good or legitimate about "DSKCHECK" per se and I thought I'd throw a flag out since you said you were downloading and installing it. YMMV

    What does HDAT2 do?
