Hey, quick question. Is this software going to be a paid product, or is it intended to always be free?

    This looks very exciting! :D

To be honest, I think the best way to defend against this stuff, is exploit protection, whitelisting and virtualization.

I don´t think that HIPS looking for malicious behavior is good enough. :cautious:

    Surfright,

I appreciate the uninstall cleanup tool but it appears it doesn't accept a "silent" or "unattended" switch. As such we'll need to manually remove any changes made by the product. It seems the following 4 registry keys are set by the product (in addition to the placement of the DLL, SYS and EXE in their respective locations). From our initial testing, it seems we can delete the following keys to fundamentally remove the product. Please confirm if this is in fact what your uninstaller does, and if there are any other necessary manual removal steps:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hmpalertsvc
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hmpalert
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\HitmanPro.Alert
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\HitmanPro.Alert

Yes that is it. Along with the 4 files mentioned earlier.

We have a fix for the Vista logoff and RDP issue and also the uninstall bug that was related to the minifilter driver (CryptoGuard). We will be releasing a beta today!

    Thanks, Erik.
I'll test it as soon as it's available.

By the way, have the current HitmanPro.Alert builds and the to be released beta version been tested with the new G Data 2015 version, yet? That new G Data 2015 version is available via the German GData.de website since a few days. (The G Data websites for other countries will follow in a little while, as usual.)
G Data IS 2015 has the new features Keylogger Protection and Exploit Protection.
Is the new G Data 2015 Exploit Protection compatible with HitmanPro.Alert? Has that been tested, yet?
I can try it out myself later today, as soon as the new HitmanPro.Alert beta is available.

We've done some preliminary tests with G Data 2015 and Alert 3 and they do co-exist nicely.

    Ah, great.
So I suppose the same applies to the current HitmanPro.Alert 2.x builds?
I'm looking forward to testing the new 2.x beta, today.

    HitmanPro.Alert 2.6.5.76 runs excellently with Vista SP2 32 bit and G Data IS 2015.
It fixes the Vista logoff issue.
I had no other issues with previous builds (like uninstall issues), so I haven't checked for such.
No issues with G Data IS 2015.

    Nicely done!
    Thank you very much.
