Hey the NSA installed HMPA on their quantum computer and has an issue, but can't find the cause; maybe Erik can buy one to reproduce it

 

Speaking about impressive, I was playing around with a Pony delivered by an exploit on a system with the current HMPA production version installed. The warnings about the resultant browser injection were perhaps the best I've ever seen.

I have always been curious as to how HMP.A services are always the first to be running compared to virtually every other security solutions ?

 

How to manually update to the latest stable version? I have .373 and want to update to .374. Should I remove 373 first and then install 374 or can I install 374 over 373? I intend to purchase it. Does the license cover hitman pro too? What happens to the license if I fully remove the program and reinstall it? Will I be able to activate it again? Can someone please clarify these doubts? Thanks.

 

Just run the new installer. It will give you an UPGRADE button instead of INSTALL. So no need to uninstall.
Also, if you remove HitmanPro.Alert, the license remains on your machine. If you manually remove the license, the next time you activate the product key, the server returns the remaining amount of days. So removing the license from your machine does not affect the license term as it is kept on our server.

Click the Settings 'gear wheel', and then under Settings, click "Reset settings".

It is not an exploit prevention program and it does not have a graphical user interface, so you can drop the "in my opinion"

 

Just for the sake of information, HMP.A intercepted the installation of another Pale Moon update, this time to version 26.3.2:



And as the previous time, PM did update successfully; the only issue is that it doesn't restart automatically when it asks to and you OK the restart.

 

This is caused by Norton. We'll have a look on to how we can improve this.

Should I also put MS Office OneNote into exploit protection with Office template?

I think it shouldn't because there's no HMP.A border around the window, and no keystroke encryption live window.

 

i guess you have to, supposedly with the office mitigation template.

note that the Office template doesn't deliver encryption

 

Like @guest said -- you probably should.

However, if you do - and the colored border doesn't show - it is a known issue; the color border doesn't show for some programs - like NitroPDF Reader and Kingsoft WPS. I think those programs interfere with the colored border...

Surprisingly, colored border always shows up now after putting OneNote back into Office template exploit protection.

I use AutoHotKey because it saves me a lot of typing, Hitman Pro blocks the use of this tool even when I have it in excluded in 'Your applications'. Is there a way I can overcome this?

 

Hi, why is Outlook 2016 and Outlook for Windows 10 not added to HMPA's protection automatically? is there a reason such support is not granted by default?
