    Congratulations,
It must have been a struggle to build Alert 3 from the ground up.

    @markloman

On the new Alert 3 section on your website (http://www.surfright.nl/en/alert) a new build of the Exploit Test Tool seems to be discussed (based on the new Unpivot Stack test). Will this new build be available in the future?

Congratulations on the final release :)

Do you know when you will start rolling out updates to Alert v2 users?

    Fixed in build 180 :) (didn't try 179)

Yes. A tremendous amount of research, engineering, testing, sweat and tears went into this product.

Besides the product itself also a lot of work was put into tooling to support the development of Alert 3. Like for example the exploit test tools, which we also release publically. We even did hardware development and small scale print manufacturing to support BadUSB development (more on this later).

You were all witness and part of Alert 3's development. We are a very small software development team and we could not have done this without the support of the Wilders Security community. Thank you all!!!

This is by no means the end of the development. We have just started!

I did this and it worked. Installed 179 and no problem with the Keyboard.

BTW. the latest build also killed my HMPA bypass, so the updates to the Dynamic Heap Spray and ROP mitigation are really working. ;) :thumb:

I would like to add my congratulations also. I've been following this board for years and it has been obvious to me that some user comments must have been frustrating to the Loman brothers as well as the other comments that have been helpful in programme development. Their persistence and single mindedness in building a superb piece of digital engineering deserves much praise. I for one will be happy to buy my license for years to come.

    Check again :shifty:

I had to update some of the screenshots in the Exploit Test Manual. Of course we've also provided a description of the Unpivot Stack technique.
I've also added additional sections. One explains the purpose of testing individual exploit techniques (paragraph 1.1). And another describes the dynamic searching of ROP gadgets (paragraph 1.2), which goal is to defeat signatures or reveal limitations of other popular anti-exploit solutions.

Ow gosh, I see a potential new mitigation at the horizon :)
    (Maybe something like EMET's EAF+ ?)

Okay, never mind, I already found the new Test Tool --> http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads/

Big Congratulations! Can build 180 be installed over 155, or should a clean install be done?

Congratulations and many thanks for this wonderful software. You may say the operation's small, but small is beautiful and your software is a big Hit in lots of ways! :)

Taken into consideration some previous mentioned issues in this forum thread, I played it save:

    1. Uninstalled build 155,
    2. Reboot,
    3. Install build 180,
    4. In hp.alert general settings I did a 'Reset settings'.

Everything now works like a charm.

Seems you've been wisely inspired : running HitmanPro.Alert 3.0.36.180 and expecting it to update previous 179, when it did not update but ran as solo displaying the GUI with version 180 but with the tray icon still displaying version 179. I closed the GUI, checked version installed iin c:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\hmpalert.exe and it was as well 179...

Uninstalled 179, rebooted, installed 180 correctly.
    Running smooth.

    Congratulations!

I guess it's time to activate those 3 licenses I bought last Black Friday on some family member's PC's (and/or my own).
