    HitmanPro.Alert 2.0.6.30 Public Beta available

    Changelog
    • Added support for applications running at Untrusted Integrity like Chrome sandbox.
    • Improved compatibility with various applications; e.g. Adobe Reader and DOTA2.
    • Improved overall performance using out of band communication with Alert broker process.
    • Improved uninstaller.
    • Fixed a problem causing double flyouts in Internet Explorer and Chrome.
The update procedure is silent (sorta like Chrome).
Existing Public Beta users are automatically updated (may take up to 8 hours).
A reboot of the computer will trigger the update after 3 minutes.
Or you can run hmpalert.exe /update to manually initiate the update.
When Alert has updated, a reboot is required to apply the update as most files are in use.

If you click on the Flyout (or execute hmpalert.exe without arguments) you should see this screen when an update is pending:

Notice: A program update is scheduled to be installed at next reboot

    alertupdate.png

You can verify the update has been installed by looking at the version number in the title bar: 2.0.6

New users may download HitmanPro.Alert from here:

    Hi Erik,

The problem with the double flyouts is solved in Chrome and IE. but is still there when I start Chrome sandboxed with Sandboxie.
With Chrome and IE I have the flyout sometimes in Dutch and sometimes in English. With Sandboxie I get an English flyout followed by a Dutch flyout.
My Windows 7 64bit is in Dutch, IE 10 is in Dutch, Chrome 27 is in Dutch and Sandboxie 4.03.02 is in English.

Double flyouts still there with IE10 and Sandboxie 4.03.02 64bits. All sandboxes had contents deleted.

Without Sandboxie the double flyouts (or flyout race) should be solved.
We are still looking at getting the combination with Sandboxie solved.

  5. Is it correct that the old HMP Alert is still in the beta corner (in stead of beta 2.x)?

HitmanPro.Alert version 1 is in Release Canidate status but due to false positive alerts on Avast 8 and a few other security products we decided to go with a different architecture in Alert version 2.

    @ erikloman

Hi, Installed the latest Beta, well i say installed, but there was NO install operation ? My comp froze for about 3 minutes before i could run FF 3.6.14 or Anything ? I was offline @ the time, & it "might" be due to WRSA desperately trying to connect out ? The freeze wasn't a one off, & happens on each browser launch, if i've closed All instances beforehand. As well as FF i tried IE6, just to see if it was replicated, & it was ?

Out of frustration i looked to Uninstall it, but i could find no way to do it ? I ended up disabling the Service, which worked ;) I know my version of FF isn't the latest, but i like it.

Also i got this alert ?

This is the old version 1. Don't use it. Uninstall it using standard Add/Remove Software from Control Panel.

    Download HitmanPro.Alert version 2:

    Anti-keylogger would be very nice.

Also, will Alert really continue to be free? It would seem like it's a product a few would pay for. Or is it used as advertisement for SurfRight? :)

    1. Yes, well sorta
    2. Alert is entirely different and does a few other tricks like Vaccination (see Settings)
    3. Not planned. Maybe.

Alert in its current form is and will remain free. Alert provides a warning when there is a man-in-the-browser, thus internetting/online banking isn't safe for sure. In addition it provides some vaccination against certain types of malware.

We have a additional features in the pipeline. Keep an eye on this thread.

How weird. I think the service isn't running. Can you uninstall, reboot en install again? I think the v1 interfered with the v2 install.

No flyouts at all with 206 on Win8. Working fine on Win7.

Actually the flyouts were not working properly with the previous version (203) on Win8. The flyouts only appeared once per login session even though it was set to open on browser start in the options.

The only other security software installed besides the default Windows Defender is EMET 4.0.

Have you tried setting changing the Notify setting? It could be that 203 mangled the settings for 206 (its still beta  ).

Are you using a browser on the desktop interface or a Metro app browser? Currently the flyouts don't appear on Metro based browsers.

Solved the Win 8 problem by uninstalling and doing a clean install of 206.

The Win8 pc was an update from 203 to 206 while the Win7 pc was a new 206 install.

Flyouts working every time now on Win8 while previously it was only once per login session.

I had no flyout at all after the upgrade, but I did a clean install and now it's fine.
With Firefox the flyout shows again when plugin-container.exe launches.
