Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    Hello Saraceno,

    Thank you for your feedback.

At first, I thought about that, but then I asked myself why wouldn't Hitman just make a connection to Google's, etc IPs?

Only now I could find more info, and at Softpedia there's a change log for version Hitman Pro 3.5.6 Build 115 that states the following:

    Source: http://www.softpedia.com/progChangelog/Hitman-Pro-Changelog-43800.html

Maybe has got something to do with it.

    -Edit-

I hope my english is good enough (lol), because I understand that Hitman acts on a principle that a system may be compromised (also via DNS), hence making connection to fixed DNS IPs to prevent that.

Blue shields are EWS (Early Warning Scoring) detections. You should only use EWS when you expect an infection and the Normal Scan did not pick it up.

It is not a false positive as EWS is listing non-malware stuff too, like recently installed unsigned drivers.

you mean BitDefender... right? I dont think it's worth it, tho it has a decent detection rate. I'd much prefer a better engine like Sophos, Sunbelt or VBA32. But still I think HMP is extremely good as it is right now.

Yes. Hitman Pro relates registry keys to malware so the keys get cleaned up with the malware. This works good but the malware must still on the machine, otherwise there is no evidence to remove the keys. Also, you can see which keys are found by exporting the results to XML on the finish page (see hyperlink on the bottom of the window on the finish page).

Cool..if it does scan regisrty then u should seriously consider adding mbam ... then it will be unbeatable :thumb:
