    Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    Yesterday and today, HMP 3.5.6 build 109, got stuck at 95% while classifiying files during a scan.

    Yesterday it got stuck for over 40 minutes on the Mozilla Firefox\components\browser.xpt file.
    Just now, it hung (again at 95%) while classifying the Mozilla firefox\components\components.list file.

    In between, I've uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled Firefox 3.6.8.

    Having uploaded the browser.xpt file to VirusTotal, it gave me one warning;
    McAfee-GW-Edition 2010.1 2010.08.13 Heuristic.BehavesLike.Exploit.CodeExec.EOKO

    The components.list file comes up clean.

    What to make of this?

    Edit; For browser.xpt, the SHA-1 is '0DD6BA7B777E06E11234B484E9097B541F6BDD3E'

    For those who might be interested, we have just added G Data 2011 product bundles to our English shop here. Make sure you choose the $ as currency.

    I cannot see g-data among the bundles yet.

    Edit: It seems I was careless. Works when I selected the $ sign as you said. :)

    Does anyone know how effective HMP is in detecting the v3 zeus/zbot info stealing trojan.It appears conventional AV's are struggling to detect new variants.Thanks

    Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    Hitman Pro performs a behavioral scan to determine which files need to be submitted to the cloud for confirmation. If you run with Early Warning Scoring (EWS) (from the drop-down menu on the Next button) then chances that an active Zeus/Zbot trojan is detected (even without cloud confirmation) are pretty good.

    No I have no idea. Do you run a Shell Extension or Icon Handler?

    New version of g-data has a solid behaviour blocker. Great addition. :thumb:

    I have also lost my icon because I wanted to delete the desktop shortcut item. This caused my Start Menu shortcuts for Hitman Pro to have "blank" icons.
    Can't you right-click on the shortcut icon with the missing icon, and go to Properties. Go to the tab Shortcut and click Other icon. It will list all icons included in the original exe located in %Program Files%/Hitman Pro 3.5/....exe.
    (Actually the NOD32 and Avira icons are still there I see :).)

    Translation:

    Eigenschappen van HMP3.5 = Properties of HMP3.5 (the window after you right-clicked on shortcut > Properties)
    Snelkoppeling = Shortcut
    Ander pictogram = Other icon

    Ok, no harm in trying I guess. I had to do the command prompt method. First method of deleting icon file didn't work for me.

    But if other users are experiencing the same thing, might be something else which will be solved in a HMP update.

    Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    I don't think I am really experiencing the same. I deleted my shortcut icon on purpose. And like everybody knows the HMP installation is really minimal. The icons are handled by the desktop shortcut and if that is removed the source of the icon is gone (for the start menu shortcuts).

    Thank you, the icon is ok now :thumb:

    That was the reason - erikloman should change it :doubt:

    Just started using this; definitely an interesting product however the only issue I have is it uploaded a bunch of files while I was getting a drink and when I got back I wasn't quick enough to see what was uploaded. Is there a history or log of what was uploaded?

    There is a log (as XML) of what is detected that you can export at the end of the scan. Also the Quarantine is an XML file. There isn't an upload log.
