A Facebook page would be a nice way of getting your name out pretty cheaply. I believe some of the pages can be set up with rss feeds (think so anyway). You could have one up in maybe an hour then just gradually add to it.

Well, I suppose many will be pleased, but this is my parting shot on HMP. The subject has become incredibly boring.

I cannot understand why nearly 2,000 posters have replied to this thread, to me it is a waste of time. After all, HMP is just another run-of-the-mill scanner with no particular benefits over all the other scanners we can use. Many FREE, whilst HMP is not. The whole thing is a mystery of mass hysteria.

Having read many of the posts, I conclude that for some odd reason HMP has been elevated to the level of Super-Star for no apparent motive than that of idolising some idiot Pop-Star for making an infernal racket on stage..

I have installed HMP simply due to the Pop-Star status it has been undeservedly given. I will soon dump it as being no better than anything else and more expensive. Well, it was worth the experience just to find out it was nothing much.

I see no reason why MBAM or A-Squared EEK should be given the elbow in favour of HMP. Still each to his own poison.

    @ John Bull

You might be ok with your setup, but plenty of people out there do not have the same protection.

Have a look at this page, and in particular

Hitman Pro addresses a use case which no other scanner currently in the market does. It's very very clear on its status - a second opinion scanner, it's updated frequently to address one of the most dangerous threats - rootkits. Show me one other scanner which has been able to keep up with TDL3 variations and also manages to successfully and completely disinfect the system. Hitman Pro is fast, does not require to scan the entire hard drive. Some may argue that Prevx does the something similar, but no, Hitman Pro gives you the opinion of multiple scanners, the importance of which we all know since no scanner is 100% accurate. Its like your very own mini Virus Total, without the need to manually upload every file.

Please stop dismissively insulting people just because you don't find a use for Hitman Pro and others do. You've had good-willed people patiently explaning to you the value of HMP. You've also had a number of your posts deleted on this thread because of how you have responded to them. HMP has found malware on my computer that other programs have missed, and just in the last couple of days we've learned that it offers unique LNK protection. What part of that should you find so irritating?

    No problem jmonge.

Let's say you were going to buy a bundle at HMP. Which do you think would be a good match for HMP?

Can't tell you how many times I have been to the Defensewall site (a lot), but it looks like it will never be offered as 64bit because of 7 issues. And I'm waiting on AppGuard for 64bit to get out of Beta.

Make it so. You have stated your position and everybody understands. I trust there will be no need for any more off topic post removals. Thank you all :)

Think I found a small glitch with Hitman Pro LNK fix. The icons in Start Menu 7 are gone.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

I agree, my free PrevxSO combined with the 2 shields I'm running on Avast have been as low as 6,300k, though it goes up and down for some reason, today it is up to 28,400k.

I'll contact him if you don't think he'll read it here.

    Re AppGuard:
'Hi all, We need to delay beta 2 until Monday. The QA folks found a bug we consider a showstopper. Sorry. Eirik'

I might take a chance with Beta 2 on Monday.

Re: How Hitman Pro LNK Exploit Protection works

Erik - I have my MS updates set to prompt. Come Monday should we disable the HMP protection for the LNK vulnerability before installing the patch?

Emsisoft Anti-malware (A-Squared) is still there and also is shows Ikrarus because of the vendor request but Avira & NOD32 are gone but they have added Dr.Web so that keeps it at 6 scanners hopefully they will add one more!
