What about tracking cookies scan for Opera? I hope it'll be added in the near future.

I will be using later today, Hitman Pro and Sandboxie on 64 bit, and Hitman Pro and Geswall on 32 bit. I think it is a interesting setup.

Suspicious is to. Look at Pandas malware detections. The majority are covered under the labeling of suspicious.

I think it is to help the detection of 0-day malware that are not detected by the vendors in the cloud.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

If Hitman Pro finds malware it clearly states it is real malware, by two methods:
    1. name: it clearly states Spyware, Trojan, Rootkit etc. instead of Suspicious;
    2. also it states by which partner it is found.

Stating as Suspicious is part of the EWS scan, which is used for earlier detection or if there is not internet connection available to check files in the cloud. Suspicious is potentially malicious. Suspicious is a rating (accompanied by a classification score up to 22 I think) which is the result of the behavioral scan in which Hitman Pro checks various characteristics of a file (origin, activity, visibility, digital signatures, is it uninstallable?, does it want to startup?, does it want to connect to the internet? etc.).

The above mentioned also makes the (fast) scanning method clear.
    1. Preparing (name in the program)
    2. Files (name in the program): Hitman Pro first builds up a list of files of any potential interest. (Windows folder, Users folder,Temp folder, startup, interesting parts of the registry etc.).
    3. Classifying (name in the program): based on the above mentioned characteristics Hitman Pro performs a behavioral scan, to classify files as potentially malicious.
(4 optional: or no potentially malicous are found, or not internet connection is available): check the potentially malicious files in the cloud.
    (5 optional): removal.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Would someone kindly point me at a good description of the Early Warning Scoring scan... what it does, when it should be used, etc? I found no info to that effect on the SurfRight website, and searching this thread for that term isn't giving me any results.

EWS and the normal scan use the exact same method of behavioral scanning . The difference is the potential results shown and therefore, it is meant for advanced users. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1577989&postcount=595

    From: http://www.opera.com/support/kb/view/350/

It is not possible to edit the file cookies4.dat by hand in order to remove unwanted cookies from your hard drive, but you can use Opera's server manager (go to Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Cookies, click "Manage cookies").

This means that it is not easy to remove cookies from Opera as the File Format is undisclosed. But we might reverse engineer the File Format in the future to support removal of adware related Tracking Cookies.

Seriously, can someone notify me about the status of the new 64-bit version? Wasn't it supposed to be released the day after the 32-bit version?

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Just updated Hitman Pro in one of the myriad of snapshots that I have going. ;)

You can see from the first screenshot (3.5.4-Build 92).

Seems to work well with another software. ;)

But it would be a good idea to remove Prevx from Hitman Pro because Prevx is a FP champion :ouch:

A separate Ikarus icon, oh nice :)
