this type of software was never meant for that, and if it did, imagine all the uploading needed with every executable on ur system being uploaded to the cloud, scanned and result displayed.

32% of Computer Users Still Infected, Despite Presence of Anti Virus Program

32% of Computer Users Still Infected, Despite Presence of Anti Virus Program

"Computer users assume that the popular antivirus programs will protect them against malware (viruses, spyware, Trojans, etc). But our research shows this is not correct. Over 100,000 computers were scanned using our award-winning product, Hitman Pro 3, and almost 32% of the users that have an up-to-date antivirus program installed is still infected with malware."

Ok, now that I can believe. I bet 99% of them also had "My websearch" installed.

MyWebsearch isn't in the top 20 we have encountered on the computers (see page 13 of the research document). But it is in the top 50.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    Erik,

Well what it says is that the people using Hitman Pro have that infection percentage. Hitman was widely used in the Netherlands, but I guess a large protion of Hitman Pro users, use it to check their image after playing with malware.

For this reason Prevx dropped their innovative lisence policy on first PrevX release. I hope you will keep providing Hitman Pro with a free trial period.

What are your development ideas for Hitman Pro?

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Hitman Pro will keep its free trial period to remove malware. Hitman Pro used to be entirely free and this is a way to kinda compensate the user base that used to have it for free.

    • Quarantine (soon)
    • Export log information
    • Extra settings: Enable/disable specific scanner, more scheduling options, excluded folders, scan archives
    • Expert mode providing detailed information of the behavioral scan and listing related registry keys and data files
    • Additional scan methods
    • Realtime protection (trial/payed)

    Erik,

Thanks, hope your business drives well from Hengelooo :D

Considering the fact that Hitman Pro performes an educated correlation analysis of many relevant intrusion spots, would it make sense to provide a rollback option? E.g. to save the files and (registry value) after a scan for later re-pair actions (e.g. quarantaine and recover files/values to last saved)?

    Thanks

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    Hi erikloman,
Is there a possibility that malware remnants (those pieces left, after the AV (tried to) clean infected files/infections) might have been flagged by Hitman Pro, in this test?
Or can Hitman Pro make that distinction? Between 'complete' malware and remnants, I mean.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

What we frequently encounter is that if ESET was run on the infected PC, it cannot find the infection. But if you run Hitman Pro, ESET recognizes it in our cloud ... Same applies to most other vendors. This in mainly due to the different scanning methods in Hitman Pro.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

I am not sure what this means.
You can install the 30 day removal anytime you like. What that means, you can use it for a couple of months, and when you do find malicious files, activate the 30 day removal, and see it in action.
I have used over 30 days and use to scan only at the present time.
Is there a download somewhere I can get to remove anything Hitman Pro should find?
I expect to buy the product but not at the present time.
    I do really like HP.

Basically you have an unlimited usage of HMP for malware detection. If at any time in the future it detects anything you can then activate the 30 day removal trial .

Interesting. The Hitman is kicking the doors down.

Along with other test results, if you use it with MBAM and a-squared free (which I'm using all three), detection should be right up there. MBAM seems to be storming ahead also. :thumb:
