Same here, support contacted me for information which I provided for them. I really think Hitman Pro should have it own forums, this is quite a good place but if you want to diagnose a problem you need to have a forum that all can use and not have to look for, jmho. Love the software.

It must've been an emergency downgrade due to a serious bug or the deal is off with Kaspersky. I can't think of anything else than that.

Oh well, I suppose I will taste the 202 version at a later stage. :)

P.S. Other than a dedicated forum at Wilders, I think Hitman should have Malwarebytes engine in-cloud for all those pesky rouges etc.

i didn't experience any problems with the 202 version..

now it has rolled back to build 201..

i wonder if build 201 includes the kaspersky cloud-scanning?

Wow! I'm glad I'm not alone. Build 202 was stalling on one of my systems as well. Removed and just downloaded build 201 (from http://www.surfright.nl/en) and HitmanPro is working fine again. :)

Build 202 worked fine on my Windows 7 64-bit machine, until a slow Automatic Update just downgraded HMP to 201 a minute ago.

One way or another, it's a big fault.
Also it's a bigger one the radio silence which is kept by the (very talkative in other cases) markloman & erikloman. :thumbd:

I'm gonna guess its Kaspersky related......I don't recall a rollback any other time....Hitman is not noted for tech errors.

No problem with build 202-XP Pro, no rollback.

EDIT: When reopened noticed it had rolled back to build 201.

Hi, all. Just stumbled into your forum, hoping for some help. Is this the place to get a HitmanPro.Kickstart issue addressed? My pop's laptop has a ransomware on it, I followed the directions in a couple of videos and on the HitmanPro site to create the USB, but the problem is the infected laptop won't default boot to option 1 on the USB drive. It just sits there, and (obviously?) I can't type 1 and select it.

His laptop is a Win7 HP Pavillion 32-bit

I made the Kickstart USB on my WinXP pc

Let me know if you need any additional info (or link to existing answer if I missed it). Thanks!

    JP

**Edit to add** And I just found a Kickstart page. No direct answers there to my question, but maybe this should be moved there?

I definitely agree with you there Alan1476, I think that they should have their own forum(s) and contact form/page on their website, it is amazing that they still do not have that after all these years especially now in the year 2013 even though there are free open source programs available for creating/running/et cetera forums; and making a contact form/page is even easier, in WordPress you can make one with one simple shortcode: [contact-form].

Regardless, they have a nice product, I look forward to more features being added in the future. ;)

We are releasing build 203 today, which addresses the freeze problem that some users experience. The problem did not show up in our QA testing that we did for weeks and only occurs on some specific hardware conditions (hence why most users did not experience any problems with build 202).
We decided to rollback to build 201, just a few hours before the weekend last Friday, to prevent problems with users that still needed to update to build 202 and help those users that were updated to 202 and experienced freezes.

    Kaspersky Lab
Build 201 also offers Kaspersky intelligence since the third-party scan engines are cloud based.

    Direct Disk Access
When build 203 is released, we recommend everybody to set the disk access mode in HitmanPro back to Direct Disk Access. Compatible Disk Mode makes HitmanPro scan like a regular antivirus program and will not detect deeply embedded rootkits.

    Hi

I have send surfright an E-Mail with my questions for the problem

Every time I try to run the latest version of HMP (3.7.7.202), my Windows Vista Home Premium system totally locks up and I have to reboot. I have done this several times now and each time the outcome is the same. Anyone else experiencing this?

I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit

Did you need something dumps or whatever

Any Infos for the fix or a New Release for fix the Problem

And the answer from Surfrights is

Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, the 202 build of HitmanPro caused some computers to hang during a scan, that is why we switched back to build 201. Our engineers have created a fix for the bug that was present in the 202 version and will release a 203 version this week.

If you have any more questions, please contact me again.

Does anyone know if hitman shares hashes or files with the virus companies? For example if Bitdefender detects a virus, does hitman send the hash or file to the other companies (that are used in hitman).
