    Re: Build 137

Not sure ahat you mean "when running", as it is never running on the system unless I load it for a scan.

Yes, it still wants to upload the same file.

I don't get any failed uploadedmessages from Hitmanpro. I also checked history in Norton, nothing special in there too. Nothing being blocked.

    Hello all,

With great pleasure I announce the release of HitmanPro 3.6:
    http://hitmanpro.wordpress.com/2011/12/23/hitmanpro-3-6/

I want to thank everybody in this thread for their contribution that brought us from beta to final. A lot of work lies ahead of us to fill the Remnant Cloud and everybody can expect much more (cloud based) features in 2012.

I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Best regards,
    Erik Loman

Is Hitman going to replace Prevx with something else? Also isn't Ikarus counted twice in terms of the number of engines, once with Emsisoft and once on it's own?

    Yes.

No because Emsisoft also has their own engine (total of 2 engines in Emsisoft).

    Hi Erik,

With HMP 3.6 Build 137 latest version :

I have still this issue unsolved :

"Same is true when scanning a file folder with multiple files. The scan is completed but it indicates nothing was scanned. This is on the right-click in explorer only."

    Thanks in advance :thumb:

    Merry Christmas !!

Does the folder contain any non-broken PE files? If it only contains documents, texts, scripts, etc., nothing will be scanned. Also, the context scan does not scan any subfolders.

    Hi Mark,

It contains reg, txt, xml, vbs, xml and jpg files.

What do you mean by non PE files ? o_O

The files you are mentioning are usually all non PE files. PE files are typically files with extensions like DLL, EXE, COM, SYS, etc. But HitmanPro checks every file for a PE header.

What's the advantage of using the paid version VS the free version? I used the free version for one time scans only.
Will it only work for 30 days for cleaning?

    [Update]
No need confirmed the answer. Any sales on Hitman Pro?

    Thanks.

    Question about the latest release:

If I change the scheduled scan to "default" from "quick", the scheduled scan still runs a "quick" scan despite the change in settings. (This is the case on two systems running XP Pro SP3.)

I apologize if I somehow missed some information on this in the preceding pages on how to work around this issue.

Thanks for any info and congrats on the new version.

I just installed 3.6 on XP and noticed that hmpshext.dll crashes window explorer when you launch start menu -> All programs -> right-click on an object -> CRASH. I Have to force a logoff to regain control. Can anyone confirm?

Right-click from within windows explorer does show the context menu without crashing. It only happens as described above. I have a log file, but no dump since DR. Watson also fails to finish. If I uninstall - no crash. I guess it's back to 3.5

    Thanks, Al

Merry Christmas to all people here !!! ;)

I noticed that some files aren't delete even on boot. Here you are an example after I reboot, another scan to check it: the same files were detected.

When I tried to pin a program to Start menu, Windows Explorer crashed on my XP SP3. Like you, it only happens with 3.6 installed, I am back on 3.5 now.

Have you chosen Delete (at end of the row)? Because Suspicious items are set to Ignore by default.

If you disable the Shell Integration you can keep using 3.6.

We have the issue under investigation but are still unable to reproduce. Can you send a dump using ProcDump on Explorer.exe? (see Sysinternals).

Once the crash occurs, I can't do anything on the system except for ctrl+alt+del
to force a logoff. What about the log. there is some code snippet in there that belongs to hmpshext.dll

I am already back on 3.5. In a few days I ll try 3.6 again. If it crashes, I ll get you the dump using the program you suggested.

    Thanks for your reply.
