    We offer Hitman Pro for free with bundles in our shop (scroll down for the bundles).

    For around 10 days now HMP tries to upload ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\tmp.edb at each scan on Win 7 x 64 machine but can't as its in use. Similar issue trying to upload it to Virus Total.

    Tried linux boot CD to get into the Windows files to upload copy when not in use but the file is not there. Seems to be created at boot and deleted at shut down.

    MBAM says its clean and I'm pretty sure its safe but would like to confirm given it is constantly flagged. Is HMP known to flag this type of file erroneously?

    I booted with a Windows PE CD and the file was still there - see my previous post with the VT link.
    This FP should really get fixed...

    Hitman Pro has no problem accessing files that are in use as Hitman Pro is reading sector data (lowest level) and not the file (high level).

    The reason for the file not being accepted is that 3.5.8 has no corrupt PE detection and tries to upload it (cloud does not accept it).
    Version 3.5.9 (beta) has corrupt PE detection and just skips the file.

    Hope this helps.

    PS. 3.5.9 is around the corner so you all will be relieved by this nasty client/cloud mismatch.

    Cloud Assisted Miniport Hook Bypass

    We are just a few hours away from the release of Hitman Pro 3.5.9 build 124 (both 32-bit and 64-bit).

    A major feature of the release is Cloud Assisted Miniport Hook Bypass.

    I've just written a short piece about it on our blog.

    A full list of release notes on build 124 can be found here. It became quite a long list.

    Still not available yet...

    Nice list of features, but this 2 hour check doesn't appeal me. Does it run in the background even with Hitman Pro closed? If so, can i revert back to the original behaviour?

    I've got to say that like you I'm not too keen on the idea of it running in the background (if that is indeed the case). I prefer to run it (and update) on demand and when I choose.

    If that is not an option, then I'll probably remove HMP. I hope it doesn't come to that.

    Hitman Pro used to check for an update at EVERY run. Now WHEN YOU RUN Hitman Pro, at least two hours must have past before it checks for an update. So there is no scheduled update proces or something like that. It just doesnt check at every run anymore.

    We added this since when Hitman Pro checks for an update the next button is grayed out momentarily. Checking less frequent lets you allow to click the Next button directly more often.

    Also, I notice with this version, the hanging problem that we worked on in a remote session late last year is back with a vengeance.

    Try as I might, I can't seem to get Hitman Pro to update to build 124. It won't update itself from build 121, and redownloading Hitman gives me build 118 - which promptly updates itself to build 121 again!
