  1. Or: "Yes, I know what I'm doing. Trust every executable that runs, and let me set policies for specific applications."

What current HIPS software (payed, free, I don't care) can:
    - Trust by default every binary the runs
    - Let me set reasonably fine-grained restrictions on specific programs
    - Enforce those restrictions silently, without ever querying me on what to do?

Yes, I'm basically asking for an AppArmor substitute for Windows. :)

BTW, I know that Outpost Free 6.5 can do this, but it is rather dated by now...

Comodo or online armor are worthy choices.

    Xp, 7, 8, other?
    32x, 64x?
For 32-bit I prefer and would recommend trying Malware Defender.

Try Online Armor, it can do all that perfectly. Probably Comodo/CIS also but haven't used it in a while and OA has less bells and whistles imo.
Just scan the OA online manual link to check it's features.
-edit: the firewall component can be uninstalled after installing OA.
