I used Ad-aware 6.0. I'd be playing multi-player online games application games, and when I logged off, there would be around 20 IE explorers opened by theirselves. Everytime I start up my desktop, A pop-up thing would pop up that says: "The Application failed to initialize properly (oXC0000135)" Another one would say "Rng.exe Application error." I just recently tried to open two IE windows at the same time, it wont let me. McAfee has asked me if I want to allow pup.exe to access to the internet. The pup.exe filename is "werule" (if that helps). The computer has been acting slower recently. Thats pretty much all I could think of at the moment. I sure hope this works. Heres the log.

    Hi SyNiKaL,

Not sure if we can cure this in one go, but let's at least make a start.

Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Okay, I did everything you told me to do, and thanks-uh-million for all the help. I could not find the SRLE32M file thing in the Hijack log, or in the Systen32 folder. A few things popped up when I rebooted the computer back to regular mode. "Windows cannot find 'C:\windows\System32\services\.exe" and "Windows cannot load 'C:\windows\System32\services\.exe". McAfee picked up a different file this time when I first started the computer. The file name was still 'werule' but the file path deal was 'C:\windows\system32\LEACCRCO.exe. One last thing: the pop-up that said "The application failed to initialize properly (oxc0000135)" was still there. I think all the other problems are gone though. I'm very greatful for all your help, and thanks again.

    Hi SyNiKaL,

I was afraid that was going to happen. Those files change name everytime you reboot.

Can you post a new log and then wait with rebooting untill you get an answer?

    Regards,

    Pieter

boot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

Run hijackthis, tick these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

    F1 - win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\System32\services\services.exe

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5321E378-FFAD-4999-8C62-03CA8155F0B3} - (no file)

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aida] C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan's Computer\Application Data\ttuh.exe

    NOTE:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ASKMGRT] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ASKMGRT.exe <<<< this is the changing file when you reboot it will probaly change again, you will need to look in the same place on the hijackthis log and substitute the new name and fix that instead if it has changed

it will be in thsi position in the log every time between the adaptec and messenger entries, so that is the one to fix
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdaptecDirectCD] "C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 5\DirectCD\DirectCD.exe"
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ASKMGRT] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ASKMGRT.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Pager] C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\MESSEN~1\ypager.exe -quiet

    Delete these files

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ASKMGRT.exe or it's replacement as described above
    C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan's Computer\Application Data\ttuh.exe

Reboot normally & post anew log to check
