I ran CW Sweeper, Adaware and Spybot. I'm fairly new to the spyware stuff, and I"m trying to learn as much as I can. Any help with the log or anything that would further my education would be greatly appreciated.

I have had some unexplained monitor flickering. And in the last couple days I had either one or two viruses on my computer. One virus was found in Adaware (I was unable to access or delete it when it was initally found) the other virus was found in "My documents." Trend micro caught one that couldnt' be cleaned or deleated or quarantined and McAfee found one that couldn't be cleaned or deleated or quarantined on the first sweep, but it was deleated on the second sweep. Since then I have perhaps overreacted and installed evaluation of Trojan Hunter, TDS-3, Spyware guard in addtion to Spyware Blaster.

Subsequent virus scans with up to date McAfee indicate no viruses. Subsequent scans with Trend Micro PC-Cillin indicate no viruses either. TDS-3 and Trojan Hunter have been clean as well, and I have updated the Radius file to TDS-3 several times. Again, I have ran MANY subsequent scans since and I have found nothing, nada, zip. I suppose I"m to assume I"m clean? I plan on reformatting in the next month to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 and I heard that if there was a virus and you reformatted it would be MUCH harder to remove.

Thanks again for reading my post and I'll look forward to the replies.

    Hi Holartic,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {ACB1E670-3217-45C4-A021-6B829A8A27CB} - (no file)

    O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Then reboot. Nothing serious, just housecleaning.
The McAfee toolbar was toast, but you probably never missed it.

    Regards,

    Pieter
