    Hi Corey McCarthy,

    Welcome to Wilders.

First, I would strongly suggest you remove SpyHunter via your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. This is a questionable program and 2 other freeware programs that are available are a lot better.

I would suggest these trusted spyware removal programs to use in its place. (I recommend having them both as one may catch what the other may not, since they update at different times):
    Spybot Search&Destroy
    SpybotS&D Setup Tutorial.
    Ad-Aware
    Ad-Aware Setup Tutorial.
Before scanning with either Ad-Aware or Spybot S&D, remember to bring them up-to-date first.

Before you start, please unzip or move HijackThis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder it's in. These easily get lost in a temporary folder.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://home.netscape.com/home/winsearch.html

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://home.netscape.com/home/winsearch200.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://home.netscape.com/home/winsearch.html

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://home.netscape.com/home/winsearch.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://keyword.netscape.com/keyword/%s

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpyHunter] C:\Program Files\SpyHunter\SpyHunter.exe

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [BLMessagingIntegration] C:\Program Files\Common Files\PSD Tools\blengine.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Steam] "c:\program files\steam\steam.exe" -silent
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Roat] C:\Documents and Settings\Corey\Application Data\paoc.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WNSA] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wnstssv.exe

Then reboot into safe mode, and zip the following files before deletion and e-mail them to Pieter at the address in his profile. Please include a link to this thread.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Corey\Application Data\paoc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wnstssv.exe

Then reboot in Safe Mode and delete the following:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\PSD Tools\ <-- entire folder
    C:\Documents and Settings\Corey\Application Data\paoc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wnstssv.exe

Reboot and then post a fresh HijackThis log.

    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi Corey McCarthy,

Your log looks clean except for one minor item.

Check the following item in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O2 - BHO: Popup Manager - {08E74C67-99A6-45C7-94DA-A397A8FD8082} - (no file)

You should now have your problems solved!!!

    Good work!!

    Regards,
    Kent

I have caught 'Your-search.info' home page hi-jacker and am not experienced enough to play around with the registry. I guess running the un-install option on the home page might make things worse??

    Hi stevehillier,

    Welcome to Wilder's!!!!!

I would not do the uninstall as I would not trust what it might do to my system. Go HERE and follow the instructions.

    Regards,
    Kent
