Now just sold to AVG for £40m.

Do you trust such companies to handle your private communications?
Their concerns for profits, not for your privacy.

Everybody and their mother have known that HideMyAss is awful for years now, shouldn't be surprising. What I find most concerning here is a "security-focused" company hires random people from countries known for being the origin of a lot of online fraud and hacking.... It's like starting a wealth management company and hiring a bunch of random Nigerians because they work for cheaper, lol. Before I figured that a service like HMA would probably be okay for a coffeeshop scenario for security, but now I'd be wary of that.

They do have a mind-boggling number of servers, however ;)

But yes, this is another good reason to avoid them.

It is a mistake to think only HMA is only vpn company like this. Probably others also very amatuer. Working out of garage, and weak security practices. This should be lesson for anyone who looking for vpn services.

It must say it was kinda exciting to read how this all started, and now he's 35 million bucks richer. And apparently a lot of people are happy with this app, a net income of 2 million with a revenue of 11 million dollar, quite impressive.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not into VPN's but it' still interesting to know.
