I am trying to access an HFS+ formatted external drive (2 drives in OWC Mercury Elite Pro Duu enclosure) from my Windows 7 Lenovo T420 via USB. When I first installed HFS for Windows it worked and I was able to read from the drive. I did not try writing at all. It worked for about a day but now it does not let me access the disc. The enclosure shows up in "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" but without a drive letter. I can also see the disk in Disk Management but it doesn't know the format. Previously it showed as HFS+. No drive letter is assigned in Windows Explorer. I can access the data using HFSExplorer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still get no joy. I also uninstalled and installed a MacDrive trial and it assigns a drive letter but says it is unformatted. Has HFS for Windows killed my drive? Note that I can't check the drive in my Mac because it is out getting repaired which is why I need an HFS solution for Windows.
