I installed the free version 9 of HFS for Windows that was provided by Seagate with an external USB 3.0 hard drive. I was getting 10-20 MBPS transfer rates. The same happens when using the trial version 10 of the software. Meanwhile, similar Seagate USB 3.0 drives also connected through the same USB ports are getting in excess of 100 MBPS. I also tred switching cables and ports. Seagate tech support suggested that the software is likely the culprit. Is that the case, or is there something I can do to fix this? At this rate, it will take a week (or possibly several) to copy a few terabytes of data.
