    Nope... not a joke. :D

For quite some I'm experiencing a strange, or not, behavior in Prevx. Sometimes when I look at the tray bar, Prevx icon has some red/dark orange color line/tiny rectangle in it; I put the mouse cursor over it and it closes and a new Prevx icon appears.

    Anyone experiencing this as well?

You may want to try uninstalling/reinstalling to see if this corrects it, but I'm unaware of any outstanding issue causing this at the moment.

By the way, I started noting this behavior, after my relatives noted it too. Some run Windows Vista and the icon stays in sight, unlike Windows 7, which doesn't, unless the user moves the icon(s) to a visible place.

I'm wondering if many more users are experiencing it, without being aware it is happening...

Later on, I'll see if I uninstall/reinstall and then monitor it for some days.

It looks like the real-time protection gets temporarily disabled somehow, but Prevx restarts itself. My guess is the self-protection module is kicking in. I have seen this on at least two occasions. I managed to see the main GUI quickly in one case before the tray icon vanished; this showed real-time as being off.

Each time I did a scan immediately afterwards when Prevx restarted in case some malware kick-started that. None were found. Using XP SP3 here.

Would you have a scan log from that time to send to Prevx? Same with you m00nbl00d when it happens again please send a Prevx scan log to report@prevxresearch.com that would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, I don't. However, if it happens again, I'll try to remember to do that as well.
