    Hi,

I want to transfer some files from a PC to another. I have a crossed cable, but I don't know what I have to do next...

Both PC's have WinXP with Outpost firewall and Network adapters for cable...

    You help are welcome :D

    Thanks

It's actually quite simple. If you can, please refrain from using the wizard that Windows provides. It can get you going in directions that you don't want to go.

With the cross connect cables connected; you need to make sure that first the PC's can ping each other. Once that is done, make sure that they are on the same workgroup. Then you need to enable file and print sharing. And finally, you set up the shares and permissions.

Give us a buzz when you are ready to go.
