I have My PC with Windows 8.1 Pro and a Sony Vaio with Windows 8.1, but they can't see each other on the network, well sorta. My PC can see the user files of the Vaio, but the Vaio can't access the shared folders of My PC. My parents Vista and Windows 7 computers see the Shared Folders of My PC with no problem. I am not running a HomeGroup, just have the folders shared on My PC to EVERYONE. Has anyone ran into this similar problem and\or know where to start to fixing it? Thanks

Thanks and yes that is the first thing that comes up in Google search :D . Though nothing there helps me troubleshoot my problem.

I have already tried all that my friend with no go. I will just have to keep at it, there is a little bugger that is making my Vaio not see My PC. Thanks!

Read through it but gave up and setup the HomeGroup between the two Windows 8.1 computers. I didn't like the way you control sharing folders, so I removed the HomeGroup. Weird thing is that now without a HomeGroup setup, the darn Share Folders work between both computers the way I wanted it. :doubt:

I have the same problem, but haven't searched anything yet. Only way works for me is to have the local account instead the Microsoft account.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed
