    Hi All

    Installed Disk Director V9 - along with OS Selector

    On Reboot it would not load the OS

    Client ran the fix mbr floppy - now getting errors relating to missing HAL.DLL.

    Tried booting from CD but there is no windows directory etc

    Removed harddrive - placed in new PC and the Prog Files, Windows and Docs and Seetings folders are all in a hidden sub directory called BOOTWIZ.

    How do I make this PC bootable again? This is urgent as client is waiting for a fix - tried emailing ACRONIS support but no response so far

    You can try to boot your computer up with ADD Bootable media and reactivate OS Selector...

    The information regarding HAL.DLL can be found in Microsoft Support base...

    If that doesn't work - uninstall Acronis OSS using ADD bootable Media disk and fixmbr AND bootcfg using Windows XP recovery console as per these instructions:

    Hello JonasB,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

    Please create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report.txt file to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
